A Letter from John Compton, CEO PepsiCo Americas Foods
I am excited to share with you a new initiative at PepsiCo Americas Foods called
PepsiCo on the Go!, a program aimed at motivating PAF associates to improve their health while mobilizing us on behalf of the fight against global hunger.
PepsiCo on the Go!'s aim is to encourage all of you to take part in healthy, physical fitness programs (walking, running, hiking, biking, swimming, etc). By being physically active, you can achieve goals for yourself and help the greater good. Collectively,
the more active we are, the more money PAF will donate to our designated food bank partners - Feeding America, The Global Foodbanking Network and Asociación Mexicana de Bancos de Alimentos. The healthier you are, the more people we can nourish. Our goal: to
cover collectively, the distance from Canada to Chile, our PAF footprint, and in so doing generate up to $1 million to help improve the health of people in the communities in which we operate.
PepsiCo on the Go! kicks off July 12, 2010, beginning our 40,000 mile virtual journey from north to south. Via this website, you have the chance to learn more about the PepsiCo Americas Foods business, the dynamic people we employ and the positive
impact of our remarkable food bank partners. Along the way, we will offer tips on how to increase your physical activity and provide challenges. You also will be able to share your "shoe stories" – inspirational tales of your experiences with healthy lifestyles
and working with our food bank partners toward a better world.
I believe this initiative truly embodies what this company is all about: Performance with Purpose. So please help make it a success, and take advantage of this opportunity to improve our own health and that of our communities.
